# iOS app brief

A template from Pull House (https://pull.house/guides/app-brief-template/).
Short answers are fine. "We don't know yet" is a useful answer too.

## 1. The problem
- What problem does the app solve, in one or two sentences?
- How do people solve it today, without your app?

## 2. The people
- Who is the app for? Describe one real person, not a market.
- Are they on iPhone? Do you need iPad, Apple Watch or Mac as well?

## 3. The core flow
- What is the one thing people will open the app to do?
- Walk through it step by step, from opening the app to the result.
- What other flows exist? Mark each one: v1, or later.

## 4. Accounts and data
- Do people need an account? Why?
- Where does the data live: only on the device, in iCloud, or on a server?
- Is there an existing backend or API? Who runs it? Is there documentation?

## 5. Money
- How will the app earn: free, paid, subscription, credits, one-time unlock, ads, or none?
- What is free, and what is paid?

## 6. iOS features
- Any of these needed? Push notifications, widgets, Live Activities, Siri and App Intents, Apple Pay, HealthKit, the camera, location, offline use.

## 7. AI (if any)
- What should the AI do? What goes in, and what comes out?
- Do you already have a model or a provider in mind?
- Will personal data, such as photos, be sent to a third-party AI service?

## 8. Design
- Do you have designs, a brand guide or a logo?
- Two or three apps whose feel you like, and why.

## 9. Languages and markets
- Which languages at launch? Which countries?

## 10. Timeline and budget
- Is there a date that matters, and why?
- A budget range, even a rough one.

## 11. Success
- Three months after launch, what would make this a success?

## 12. Constraints
- Anything regulated, such as health, finance or children?
- Anything that must not change: brand rules, existing systems, legal requirements?
